Dynamic Brace(AFO)
At Maughan Prosthetic and Orthotic we have spent years developing our proprietary dynamic AFO. Our labs were one of the first in the United States to produce a modular dynamic strut for AFO use. The AFO you see today weighs approximately 250 grams making it one of the lightest AFO designs the orthopedic industry has ever seen.
The strut and footplate are made of a material that allows normal ROM where desired and provides resistance to the affected areas that need correction. The strut and footplate are also custom designed to your height, weight and activity level to optimize performance and fit appropriately into your shoe. The dynamic strut of the AFO converts potential energy into kinetic energy which assists the affected leg and allows improved locomotion..or simply makes it easier to walk. Everything about these AFOs are custom. If you have a question about our Dynamic AFOs or believe you or a friend may benefit from this technology call or schedule a free consultation today.

Post-Op Leg Care
Maughan P&O will work with your surgeon from the very beginning to start getting the residual extremity ready for your new prothesis.
Prosthetist Evaluation
At your first consultation you’ll meet with the expert prosthetists at Maughan P&O to go over your goals and lifestyle so they can design a custom prosthesis to fit your needs.
Prosthesis
After your extremity has had time to heal from surgery, you’ll be measured and fit for your prothesis. Maughan P&O will use a combination of devices and techniques unique to your specific needs.
Courtesy Transportation
We realize the time constraint that can be put on friends, family and volunteers who are helping to get you to and from your appointments. To ease the difficulty of transportation Maughan Prosthetic and Orthotic can provide courtesy transportation to those who are without a ride to their appointment.
Follow-Up Care
Overtime your residual extremity may change and your prosthesis needs to be able to change with it. Our On-Site Lab makes follow-up care and adjustments a simple and connected process.
